Hercules MX problem

I just install a Hercules Mx card. I tried running UT and Half-life using D3d mode, but its graphics are terrible, like it's running 256 colors or something.
It's running fine with OpenGL mode.
I'm using Win98 SE and Detonator 3.
Any suggestions?

What kind of video card did you replace? Did you uninstall the old card? Sometimes your previous card's drivers can mess up the new card, particularly if it was a 3dfx card. You may need to into regedit and remove all traces of your old card, then try reinstalling the GF2MX and see if it helps.

What type of mobo do you have? Asus announced a problem between the Herc MX and the Sound Blaster Live...go to their FAQs page on their web site for more info.
