It's on Prime - so, I checked it out.

Fun movie.

NOTHING like what the trailer showed. It had some WTF-is-this-stupid-shit moments, but it was very enjoyable.

The best way to describe it; a western version of 13 Assassins.

Thanks, it's about time I used my PRIME more often.

Any other PRIME movie suggestions (that aren't on Netflix)?

Although I do prefer fantasy when it comes to legends like Hercules (magic and diety-level destruction), it was an interesting perspective that surprised me a bit.
Not "great", but quite enjoyable.

It was a pretty good, senseless B-grade action movie, I enjoyed it.

This. My son wanted to go and the price of full-fare 3D IMAX made me choke but he enjoyed it so it was worth it. We don't see a lot of movies in the theatre anyway, maybe one a year nowadays.

i think they cold have pushed the main theme a bit more.

spoilers below:

so, here is the great hercules; hero of many tales and feats.

except .. it's all bullshit. or rather, PR.

hercules is just a guy, but as it turns out, letting people believe that he's the son of a god is actually beneficial and, life is hard kid.

it's been done before. Three Amigos was not that much different after all; and Hercules is a good film, it's just the forced hollywood ending that kinda annoys me but, we've all kinda come to accept that film endings all suck, no?

end spoilers :) good flick.

Loved it. Don't care if that upsets the movie buff douches.
It was nice seeing Ian McShane and Rufus Sewell as well.

I watched it this past weekend. I thought it sucked for the most part. It was a mindless action movie that felt like the old 80s fantasy movies. I did like the idea of him and his crew, but also felt like attempted to flip it at the end. The whole bit about the final labors and the statue was a bit much. I do love Ian McShane though, and he made me laugh as he just couldn't catch his death.

13 Assassins definitely has some "WTF-is-this-stupid-shit" moments, but it was indeed very enjoyable.

Not really a big fan of The Rock's movies, but if it's comparable to 13 Assassin's, I'll check it out.

It was ok but had some really shitty parts where the consistency fell to pieces. Hercules talking was just fucking laughable. They'd have these other people acting like they were from that era, and then well its the Rock talking like normal, it was pretty jarring I thought (which I guess it wasn't that much different but I remember like the Scorpion King having more consistency between the characters talking, something about how it was here was just really noticeable). There was also some really bad CGI in parts. There's one where two snakes pour out of the eyes of a statue and it is so bad. It's like Syfy movie bad. But then other parts faired better.

Somehow it was still actually enjoyable, but it definitely won't hold up like the Ah-nuld Conan movies (which were often every bit as bad, but they had consistency to them, whereas this one was up and down). I'd say the Scorpion King was similar and better.
