Hercules 9800pro opinions

Yeah, I guess they got a lot of orders. Which is interesting: A $245 6800 isn't that much of a better buy than a $190 9800 Pro. Now its a waste of money.

Hey, I am considering the same card. 200$ at overstock.com, plus you get 10$ off I guess. Looks like OEM, home they have the important stuff!

Anyone seen comparisons of it with other 9800 Pros?

They are really all the same . . . just make damn sure it is at least a 256bit/128MB card (NOT the 128bit/128 card).

OTOH i just got a Radeon Pro 256/256 from NewEgg today for $223 shipped and it IS the 9800-XT with a BIOS flash . . . afterward it'll have about 10% more perf than a regular 128MB pro. 😉

ANY 9800Pro (256/128) will play all the current games at decent res and high details, everything ON. w/aa&af

Hercules went out of business before the 128 bit cards started turning up, AFAIK.

I think this is a great deal. I know its OEM, but its only around $10 more than an OEM Sapphire, and it looks alot better, especially if your case has a window. Hercules has always been known as making premium cards (even though they went out of the video card market), if I was in the market for a 9800pro, this would probably be my choice.

Also has nice copper heatsinks. The memory on 9800 Pro runs hot. I would buy it for looks alone if I was in the market for 9800 pros.

Yeah @ the current $189 + shipping @ Hypermicro, you can't go wrong if you're looking for a 9800 Pro. I just got mine in yesterday, it's nice. I wanna get a window case now too in a month or two. 🙂
