Ok this is my first Hot Deal post so don't flame me if it is bad you bastages.

Here's the deal at Albertson's you can get a 12 pack of Henry Weinhard's bottled beer ( 4 or 5 different kinds - private reserve, amber, lager, etc.). It is normall $9.99. With the Albertson's card it drops to $7.99 but here's the deal...on each of the 12packs is a mail in rebate for $5 (limit of 2). So after I get my $10 back in the mail a case of good beer will run me under $8. Seems Hot to me!

MIR on beer!? Now thats a deal junky lol ;)

how's this beer? Whats it like? I love specialty beers. Right now I'm really on a Theakston's Old Peculiar kick. Drinking it by the gallon lately :D

It's not really a specialty beer. It's owned by Miller and is a fairly large (although regional) brewery.

Henry's makes decent beer, I guess - definitely a step up from the really cheap stuff. I don't care for some of their styles, but others are good for the price.

Not my first choice in beers (I like a good microbrew), but a good deal!

The beer tastes pretty good to me. And like I mentioned there are probably 5 different kinds ranging from a blonde to a red to the "blue boar" dark stuff. You should be able to find something you like. And what the heck it is about 30 cents a bottle, that's cheaper than Miller High Life!

Cat pee is a step up from Miller High Life :p
Great deal on a "premium" domestic beer though. I hate MIR's and can't see myself mailing in beer coupons. I'd lend you my girlfriend for some Theakston's Old Peculiar or a fresh keg of Guiness. did I just say that out loud?

30¢/bottle... mmm... must... drink...

nice find :)

Henry's is what Coors used to be before they went national. A good regional beer, like Leinenkugel's from Wisconsin. You used to not be able to get Coors outside Colorado, but then it got filtered down and pretty watery when they began selling it nationally. Henry's is good, but not great. Between Henry's and the big three (Bud, Miller, Coors), I'll take Henry's any day.

The Blonde Bock tasted disgusting to me. Overall, their beer tastes overly carbonated to me. However the Private Reserve was acceptable. You can't beat $4 for a 12er though.

Great, I just bought a 12er of the Blonde stuff and a 12er of the Amber Light. I wanted to try something new b/c I've had the Private Reserve before and I would go 1 step further than "acceptable" and say that it was pretty good.

Henry's IS Miller. Henry's used to be a local brew from Portland but they got bought out by Miller and their production moved to CA. I'm a microbrew kind of guy myself so I haven't made a direct comparison, but I hear it is Miller High Life. Haha. A local brewery (Full Sail) is supposed to have recently been awarded a contract to brew Henry's, so maybe it'll be good again soon! :)

If you like fruit beers the Blackberry Wheat is pretty good. :)

I wish this applied to the root beer. Don't know if it's still made, but about 6 years ago Weinhards Root Beer was one of the best in the country. Goo dnotes of vanilla and wintergreen, not too heavy on the molasses flavor. But alas, that stuff will never make it to the East Coast.

Nice. Thankfully I found a distributor about an hour away that gets ALL kinds of great stuff (Emmaus, PA). This guy supplies most of the swanky bars in Philadephia. Has Theakstons and the only place around I have ever seen Westvleteren sold at. Pricey at $5 a bottle but just try and find it at a bar and it will run $10 easy. Good stuff. His distribution floor is huge with all the beers stacked in nice little piles - awesome.

I miss the old Henry's... when they still brewed it in downtown Portland and you could only buy it in the Pacific NW. It was never the best beer (but better than all the other cheap beers, like Bud or Coors), but it just doesn't taste the same now. :(

Sweet deal, I go through a case of Henry's Hefewiezen (spelling?) every weekend. That is my favorite Henry's beer.
