Henry Rollins

It had been a long time since I was on launch.com but I was really happy when I decided to go through all the BS and set up an account again. Now, I know the quality is crap but some of the things that come up are albums I have never heard of or have completely forgotten about, like Henry Rollins. I have never been really into Rollin's Band but I have to say I really enjoy his spoken word. It is fun for me to listen to a fellow asshole's adventures through life. The man has traveled all over the world and has some funny stories, some touching stories and even some stories that make you take a look around. I would really recommend checking him

Anyone else a fan? Anyone have a Rollins story. His Shock and Awe tour is happening now...

all i know is black flag was maybe the worst band i've ever heard, and rollins band was only slightly better. haven't heard his spoken word stuff though.

He was at the Varsity Theatre in Baton Rouge and I missed it both times

and u gotta love the way he started his career...

i believe this is how it goes,
while working at a Haagan Das ice cream store in DC, he and a friend traveled to NYC to see a Black Flag concert.

in the middle of the show, he jumped on stage and grabbed the mike and sung along on every song.

somehow(i forget how) black flag traced him down and asked him to be their lead singer

Yeah, he has some really great stories about growing up in DC. But I really love his touring stories.

I was a big Black Flag fan back in the day - I saw them live 3 or 4 times in high school. I can't imagine any punk/hardcore fan not liking the Damaged album. Rollins himself seems like a huge blowhard, and I can't take the Rollins band for any length of time, but he knew how to rock back then. Jeez - I can't believe it has been nearly 20 years since I first saw BF . . .

I like that he is a blowhard. Him and Carlin would make a great team

I didn't go see his show on January 20th but I was sitting in Barnes and Noble the night he was supposed to do his show at LSU and all of the sudden I turned and there he was looking at a book right infront of my me. My wife actually pointed him out and I got an autograph.
