Got my asus k8n-e put everything together fliped the power and the fans go on but no display on the screen. the monitor doesn't receive any signal.. Green led on the mobo that indicates it's on lights up too.

Is the VGA connector plugged in???? Or try to reset the CMOS you should be able to do that with the insert key on an asus board when booting. Maybe it is looking for a PCI card instead of an AGP.

I tried using a different video card (still agp) and I switched to a single stick of ram and still nothing. Is it likely the mobo is dead?

If you're not getting any beeps it either: Power, CPU, or Mobo.

If it was video you would get beep codes, or ram

ok so only components are cpu(3400+ retail confirmed working) mobo (Asus k8v-e just received) ps (enermax 550W confirmed working) and video card (geforce 2 mx works alsohave a bfg 6800 GT just received). I reseated the cpu and power cables and video cards and doulbe checked all the case connections to the mobo. Still no display or power to keyboard. Should I assume my mobo is doa?
