Here's the deal. WoW DOES NOT WORK with the WRT54GS router, and I don't want to buy another one. I just bought this one, in fact, and it works perfectly in every regard except for the fact that WoW Does not play on it. No one QUITE knows why. Ideally, this problem could be fixed, but I was informed by the customer service reps. that I need to wait for god knows how long for a firmware update.

In the meantime, I wonder if such a setup as shown below is possible:

I would love to set that up, because then I can share my connection with the 3 other comps on my network, but I'm not personally going through the router.

However, I just tried to set it up, and it didn't work....

Any ideas on ANY of the above?

Sorry for being not in the know. I take it WoW is a game.

i take it is you connect the WRT to the net first you cannot play due to the ports on the router being closed and blocking net traffic. this is why there is a "port forwarding" page in the WRT GUI setup. you port forward the ports that WOW needs to use and direct them to your Computers IP address.

setting it p via your way. would result in alot of traffic going through your computer. you waould also have to setup the WRT54G as a router and not a gateway (which it defaults to)

Make sure the forwarding IP is to a PC with a static IP, and make sure any software firewalls are disabled of have rules to allow WoW to communication to the net.

make sure Upnp is disabled. is sometimes is broken anyway.
