I have been struggleing with the same problem for the past few days and I just can't find a solution so I am looking for a little help. I just installed a new PC Chips M810LR Motherboard which used SiS 730S chipset. It has sound, video and LAN onboard. I origionally installed Windows 2000 and it locked up ALL THE TIME. Was totally unusable. I tried disableing everything I wasn't using and nothing helped. I finally gave up, re-formatted my HD and installed Windows 98SE and I am having the very same problem. It is a bit more stable, but still lockes up frequently. I installed a GeForce 64MB Video card hoping that would solve my woes but the problem remains. I presently am running 768MB PC133 SDRAM, have the Sound, MIDI, IR, Modem, Game port, On-board Video all disabled and while it is now useable, it still sufferes from frequent lock-ups. There have been no error messages of any kind and I have disabled everything I can think-of. There are no resource or driver conflicts. I have changed my RAM as well (even tried underclocking it to 100Mhz) and still, lock-up after friggin lock-up. The processor is an AMD Duron 1Ghz. I ran some benchmarks on it and it appears to be working fine. The only thing left to change is the motherboard and processor! Does anyone out there have any ideas I can try other than tossing it out the friggin window?
