I am really having a bad day...........anyways.....I just got another stick of 256 MB of Crucial PC2100 DDR. I have two sticks of the same kind in my computer now. When I start up Half-Life or Counter-Strike and try to make a LAN game, it freezes up or gives me all this wierd sh!t on my screen. I already tried OpenGL and DirectX. Both of them don't work but software mode does....... :( This is what I got in my computer:
Abit KG7
2 sticks of Crucial PC2100 DDR
Hercules Prophet 4500 64 MB Video Card

I think thats all you really need. I am also running Windows 2k Pro. I already updated my Video Card drivers, DirectX drivers, already uninstalled Half-Life and re-installed it..........I also set my processor to default speed (1.4 GHZ) so there is no stability issues here.......hopefully not........I am clueless what to do now........help!!!!!!!!!1

Thanks. :)

Edit:
I just called Crucial Tech Support and they told me that I should flash the BIOS, that is the only way it will be fixed. Is this true? I already tried to take out one of the sticks of memory and it doesn't do it, it acts normal. It is only with 512 MB of memory......... :(

So this has happened ever since you installed your new RAM? Have you tried it with ONLY the new RAM? Or maybe trying the RAM on your friend's machine.

That is a very odd issue cashman. If it were me I would flash the motherboard bios as suggested anyhow. Then if having both sticks of ram in still creates problems, try each one individually in different slots. Also try adjusting the cpu and ddr voltage. I have my DDR voltage at max. :)
