1.06 fix a failure to play back multisession audio CD's beyond the first session
Patched region free firmware 1.06v3a, 1.30Cv3a, 1.30Av3a, 1.43v3a, 1.91Av3a, 1.91Cv3a, 3.07v3a and 3.43v3a are available for the drive. They are not RPC-1 but these patch updates NEC DVD-ROM Firmware to eliminate the decrement of the DVD region code change counter. After this patch you can change DVD region code on your DVD-ROM as many times as you wish - counter will be always 4. Before flashing, read the NEC DVD FAQ 5.0c. A must read. Patch by ASID.

whats the latest firmware version for you model...doesnt the nec site tell ya?

yeah i just looked they only list cd-rom....it must be manufactured by someone else and marketed by nec...have you removed the drive and looked at the crap printed on it?

nah i dont feel like opening my case any time soon, just installed my burner, and connecting the cables to my computer is a bitch, cuz of my desk

they would support flashing your dvd drive? If they do would they support making it regoin-free?

did you get that thing from dell...thats waht i get in a search...and yeah they would support a firmware or bios flash if it were needed

tried that, all they have is documentation on the connectors for the drive, and the manual
