In the past month I?ve put two systems together, but unfortunately one of the two has to go now. I?m moving into my girlfriend?s house and she is already hinting (more like pushing hard) that one system as to go (currently 4 systems)! Which leaves me wondering which one, I know for sure it wont be any of my servers (2), so it?ll have to be one of my personal systems but which one?

Here are the systems: System one is 1GHz Athlon SocketA, 20GB ATA66, PC133 256MB, Hercules GTS 64MB, SBLive X-Gamer, 3com 10/100 NIC, Pioneer DVD 115, Zip 100, Floppy. System two is Dual PIII 700?s FC-PGA?s, 18GB SCSI Ultra160, PC133 256MB, Matrox G400 MAX, SBLive X-Gamer, 3com 10/100 NIC, Pioneer DVD 115, Plextor SCSI CD-R, Zip 100, Floppy.

(Both systems and components are about a month old, so really new, and actually the Athlon system was a customers system who paid for hafe but couldn?t come up with the rest of money so I refunded the money the decided to keep it)

I was thinking of switching the video cards around, and keeping the dual rig (which is really my baby, I?m currently dual booting Win2k & Win98SE). But it?s hard giving up a 1GHz Athlon, right? What would you guys do? HELP!!!

(I have a buyer for either rig, just which rig to sell?)

<< Get a new girlfriend. >>

LOL... I was thinking the same thing! Na just kidding, she's right though 4 systems for one person is overkill, and it?s bad enough I keep two of them on 24/7. The Athlon rig wasn't supposed to be mine anyway.

I just want to be sure I?m giving up the right system?

<< 98 runs on dualies? >>

98 wont run both CPUs at the same time, that?s why I?m dual booting. I use Win98SE for gaming purposes only, and Win2k for everything else.

You take that back!

:p

I've got 4 and building another, and I'm considering going for a 6th with the current price of Athlons. Though I might retire one of those, a P75 just isn't good for much anymore.

Sorry NOX,
But I agree with BoberFett!! Ditch the girl and keep ALL the PC's. Trust me before you know it you will be down to one computer. ;)

X-fer the video card, sell the Ghz Athlon (NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), get 2 Alpha heatsinks and OC the dual 700s to 933Mhz+ (7.0 x 133Mhz+).

Sucks that one has to go. Try to sell the convenience factor to the girlfriend. My girlfrind used to be like that until she realized she could surf in also every room. She is even hinting I get another one for the kitchen and move the 18" flat panel there.

Napalm381:

Hehe...I don't have those two cracking. I'll have the dualie cracking by next week, haven't installed the software yet. It's her comp which is cracking blocks right now, she doesn't know that though. I have it in start-up on her comp.

She has here own comp which is pretty new, I must say she's pretty good about this stuff, she likes to surf a lot too. So its not bad.
