WTF? Is that Vista? "Printers and Other Hardware"? Who thought that was an intuitive place for the add hardware wizard, and labelling for it? Why not "Mouse and Other Hardware" or "CPU Fan and Other Hardware"? How about just "System Hardware"?

Anyway, uninstall the drivers, reinstall the drivers.

Oh and make sure the Windows Audio service is running in the Services console.
