My new computer was working perfectly...games working..everything. Then one day I shut it down...leave for a week, come back and it just won't start windows
I have tried all different types of safe mode, but they just load a bunch of drivers and then it just stops loading them and is stuck on that one page displaying the drivers it has loaded. Also when I try to start normally or with the Last known good configuration it just says on the windows loading screen forever.
I have a RaptorX and what it does is read read read stop! and then the little reader thing just stays in one possition with the hard drive keeps spinning.

Before when I was trying to install windows it said they was a problem with a page in a non-paged area however a format of the HD solved this. Do you think the hard drive was just bad this whole time? I tested the RAM, it was fine.

Should I RMA the drive?
 
If you have tested the ram and it's fine, I would try to reinstall windows. My guess would be the hard drive is faulty and your not likely going to get thru the installation if it is. If you do, the installation may correct your problem. My hard drive recently went bad due to a power surge....BOOTDISK FAILURE on bootup which required a replacement. You might want to try a hard drive diagnostic tool as well if you don't want to reinstall the OS.

I guess I should also let you know this computer has only been used like 3 times.
And the only way I could get the OS to install was by formatting the HD. But I think that formatting it just tricked windows into installing, but the problem was not fixed.
 
If you suspect your drive, go to the maker's site, and download their diagnostic utilities. They probably have one that boots to a floppy disk and is capable of running a complete diagnostic and low level format.

You can run the quick test, first, to see what if finds. If it fails, it will probably recommend the more thorough test, and even if it passes, you can run it to be sure. It may take some time so it's probably best to run it overnight. If it finds problems, it will tell you what they are and possibly give you further recommendations.

In any case, it's worth the time before investing in a new drive.
