I need some help!!!

after i removed my fan from my computer to clean it out, and then putting it back on, no it never turns off, it goes on forever, before it would start up loud a then become really quiet after

my computer is a eMachines T5026

3.0 P4 ht Ghz
GeForce 5500FX
512Ram
160 gb Harddrive
 
A lot of companies like eMachines have a fan speed controller built into the bios. Before you removed it, would you notice the fan spinning higher for short periods of time when you were using your machine for a while?

When you cleaned your fan, did you make any other changes to the hardware or bios?

Also, give us the make/model off of the fan, should be a little sticker on it that gives some information.

at boot, all computers crank the fans to full speed. what do you mean by it never turning off? does it not quiet down after booting into windows? or does it not turn off when your computer shuts down? there must've been some sort of CMOS settings that were off. try resetting the CMOS with a jumper on the motherboard (if you can find it).
