ok here we go, my laptop was full of crap, i didn't feel like deleting stuff off it that i didn't want. So i used a external enclosure and put everything that i wanted to keep. i pluged it in and it worked well while i was puting stuff on it. Well after i formated my laptop hard drive and re did windows. i pluged the exertnal hard drive enclosure in and it detects it as new hardware but it isn't showing it in my computer.
Please help, anything because i can't loose 6 gigs of data and stuff. even if it's in the wrong section of the forums. point me twards the right direction this is the best spot i figured it'd go.

You're probably out of luck then :(

Did you confirm that everything was actually written to the disk when you were copying stuff over?

You might have some luck with recovery software or getting it professionally recovered if it was REALLY important ($$$).

I have no experience doing that though, so I wouldn't know where to point you.

YoYo has it right. You never said how you moved the data from the laptop to the external. That is key. After moving it - did you check it before reformatting the laptop?
