What do I need to hook my computer and my buddies computers wireless and cable to a network so we all can play games against each other.

We dont have internet in the barracks so what can I use; router? hub? I dont want to buy anything until I got Anandtech's opinion. I'm not much of a computer stud, but I do know a little. Thanks.
 
get a cheap switch somwhere and a bunch of patch cords. That should be all you need. Your machines should all be set to the same subnet or dhcp.
 
You need a Wireless Cable/DSL Router (even if it is Not involve Internet) to act as the center unit.

These Routers have 4 wired ports and can deal with many Wireless Computers.

If you need more than 4 wired ports buy an additional switch and daisy chain it with the Router.

Configure all the computer to obtain IP auto and use the Routers DHCP to manage the whole Network.
