If you have PPPOE DSL.

Enter the ID, and Password to the PPPOE menu of the Router.

Check AutoConnect (or Keep Alive or what ever Netgear calls it).

Pull the Internet option in the Browser, and switch it from Dialup to LAN (PPPOE is a form of DialUp).

Router settings are independent from the Internet.

To start, find from the manual what is the default IP of the Router's Menus, and configure your Computer IP manually to be on the same subnet.

I.e. If the Router is 192.168.01 and 255.255.255.0

Configure your main computer TCP/IP to 192.168.02 and 255.255.255.0

No, it will not show up there. There is no software to install.

Try resetting it to defaults.
