I got a zune for $90 on woot not too long ago... GREAT deal and definitely worth it. I'd rather have an iPod, but for such a price difference it's worth it. The zune certainly does have some awesome features.

Same here. I have the new ipod nano video, but I couldn't pass up the Zune deal from Woot. I love the screen, controls are similiar, but I like them better on the ipod. Itunes is much better than the new Zune software. Since I now have 26gb more than my ipod does I can't gripe too much.

I agree that it is worth it. For the price it cannot be beat. There is nothing else out there that can get you the features and capacity for any where close to the price. The Ipod does have it beat in software though. It put it simply the Zune software sucks.

If you didn't get one already, I'd imagine that Woot will have it again for about the same price before Christmas.

Woot's shipping is slow as hell, though... I wouldn't risk ordering one from them after December 13th.

I too got a woot Zune. I'm pretty happy with it. The new software needs some work, seems like everyother day I find something else the software doesn't do but the player itself is nice.

I agree. Software definitely needs some enhancement, but the Zune itself is great in actual use. WiFi sync is fantastic, IMHO.

I bought a Zune a few weeks ago, and I love it. There is no question it is a better value than a corresponding (30gig) ipod...BUT...

If you are going to get accessories, the value swings back a little. For every one product for the Zune, there are about 25 for the ipod. So you have more choice and more value.

The software on the Zune is not all that different from the ipod in terms of functionality, and it offers wireless connection. It also has a bigger screen. So there are advantages (though I prefer the ipod controls, and its slightly smaller size.)

I have had my Zune for about a week now and I still have my ipod video nano. I will first say that I love the device. The screen, controls, and sound are fantastic.

The software however is absolutely HORRIBLE! If you ever used Itunes and liked it, not necessarily loved, but liked you will be disappointed. I like itunes and can tolerate it idiosyncrasies. I can download podcasts from the new Zune software, but when I sync to it and it takes 30 minutes to an hour to convert the video podcasts before I can take it with me is ridiculous. The Zune 30 really needs to have the added support of more codecs. Through itunes I can download, sync and be on my way in less than 5 minutes.

The lack of video support on this device with a screen this size is two massive black eyes for it. Seriously, why do I need to convert the video that I download through the Zune Marketplace? This is unacceptable that I have to wait to FOREVER for it to finish so that I can go.

I love the device, music is great on it, but man it chaps my arse with the video conversion BS. I am seriously considering selling it and giving up the screen size and going to an Ipod 80gb, but I know the moment I do their will be an update that fixes this and I will regret it.

I got my $90 brown Zune from Amazon yesterday. It's nice player but like everyone said, software could use lot of work. I do like the FM radio feature. It's worth $90.
