today i was formating the computer after putting all together. when i was formatting using the windows xp cd it got restarded. And now evertime i start the computer it gives me error "error loading operating system"

If it's formatted in fat you can use fdisk to reformat it getting rid of the files windows saved to the temp dir. if it's NTFS then use NTFS4dos (I think that allows you to format too)

Correct me if I'm wrong someone.

hope this helps.

You need to set your motherboard to boot from the hard drive and specify what hard drive in particular. You will need to use your motherboard manual, your eyes and your brain for this one since I can't seem to D/L a copy of the manual for your board tonight. So see that you have those three items and know how to use them 😉

If I understand you correctly this happened while you were installing XP during the format, partitioning phase. If this is correct, then you do not have XP installed on your HDD,and have no O/S to boot to on said HDD. So if you do as mechBgon suggests and set your BIOS to boot to your HDD before your CD then you will still be stuck with the same error. Your BIOS should be set to boot to your CD before your HDD.If it is, then insert your XP install CD and restart your computer after POST checks, watch for the text that will tell you to "Hit any key to boot from CD" when this happens hit a key and let XP start a reinstall, and let XP take care of formatting and preparing your HDD.
