Here's my current CPU hsf.
Since I have never replaced a heatsink before, nor have I found a compatibl hsf combo, I'm wondering if the following would work:
> Removing the stock Coolermaster fan (only the fan)
> Installing a 60-to-80 mm fan adapter
> Installing an 80 mm CPU fan OR purchasing an 80x80 hsf, and only installing the fan part
What kinds of results can I expect, and can you point me to a quiet 80mm fan (even if part of an hsf) that looks like it would fit?
Thanks in advance for any help.
(AMD XP2600+ (T-Bred), stock speed, FSB@166 MHz, current temp while idle @ 53 degrees C)
