Update: I heard from her! She shipped it this morning, and sent me the tracking number. Thanks guys & gals!

What are my options here? I won this auction, and paid via paypal immediately. The seller's page says they ship within 24 hours of receiving payment, it's been several days and nothing, no word from them. How do I go about recouping payment?

Also, is this a new trend with ebay? People maybe not getting as much as they wanted for something, and then refusing to ship? This is the 3rd time in a row I've won an auction and had something like this happen.

If I remember right you can't even open a dispute with paypal until 7 or 14 days after close of auction (some rediculous like that).

Do a charge back on your cc or file your complaint with paypal.

Do this first:

Do the complaint with Paypal, if eBay isn't helping you but they might make you wait 7 days for that one. Use the CC chargeback only if Paypal doesn't refund your money.

If you do happen to need a chargeback, be sure you document your attempted contact with the seller as that will help you with the chargeback.

My guess is that Paypal will return your money quickly. But first, I would give eBay a call from the number on the link above, stating the seller hasn't shipped within the timeframe he stated. That is usually enough to shake his inaction into action.

edit:
In fairness to the seller, the auction states it ships the next business day and not 24 hours after receiving payment. Although he has missed his self-imposed deadline on shipping the next business day (Friday), it's still only the second business day now as the weekend doesn't count. He still should have sent you an email stating when he was shipping or if he was going to be a late a business day in shipping.

Being a seller without contacting your buyers is a no-no. Did he email you at all after you won and paid?

Nope, I haven't heard a peep out of them. I contacted them after I won to let them know i'd be sending payment promptly. Never heard back. Paid, never heard back. It's been several days since I paid and still haven't heard from them. I wrote them this morning (since as you noted it's past the 1 business day deadline) to ask if they'd be shipping it, or if they had already. Normally I wouldn't be bothered, but the fact that I haven't heard a peep out of them has me concerned.

Just had another thought. He may really have shipped it Friday and didn't tell you squat.

I would wait a few days for that item to get there, depending how far away you are from him.

You can also get his home contact info if you really want to. Only a buyer of a seller's item can do this.

Hmm, I'll see if it arrives in the next couple days, if it does everything will be fine, if not, and I still haven't heard from them I'll contact the seller

I've been on ebay for 10 years, and I've bought hundreds of items. Three or four days after an auction (two of them being a weekend) is too soon to be freaking out about what's going on.

Some sellers are vocal and send updates every day. Some sellers send no info at all and the stuff just shows up. This seller is pretty low-volume (one transaction in the past 12 months), so I wouldn't be surprised if he/she doesn't check in on the weekends. Not everyone is the type who checks their email twenty times a day.

Give it ten days for the head unit to show up. I'm guessing that you'll see if by next weekend.

This isn't Ebay. Why do people come here to bitch and whine about other websites?

If you have a problem, contact Ebay.

It's MrMatt.

He has to come up with a new problem in his life every few days so he can post about it on ATOT. That's how he lives his life.

I wonder who dresses him every morning and who ties his shoes. Does he need someone to pump his chest to breathe, too?

Ok, there is more paranoia here than in my eBay thread; I feel better. 😀

Thanks for laughs. "he said it would be shipped in 24 hours!" Maybe he ship it maybe he didnt get chance to ship Friday and post office closed on Saturday like it is here. Who cares either way if you wanted it sooner you would have checked before purchase.
