Help with XP2100 please!!

I am running an XP2100 tbred B on an asus A7N8X. I have an SLK-800 heatsink. I havent overclocked yet and my case temp is low. My system is about 3 weeks old and has been running fine, but on a random reboot my processor wasnt recognized and wouldnt boot into Windows XP. I restarted again and BIOS recognizes it as a "Mobile AMD Athlon 4" and will only run at 853 Mhz instead of 1.73Ghz. I have tried updating the drivers from the AMD website and pondered updating my BIOS. What else could I do so that it will recognize my processor? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Did you try setting your motherboard to run at 133FSB?

I am running two sticks of Mushkin PC2700 DDR. I had been running my FSB at 166mhz, but tried 133 and it just slowed down to 650something mhz.

try increasing the multiplier to 13x and set the FSB to 133MHz

Had this happen once....reset the bios and it works fine.

How do you reset the BIOS? Pull out the battery for a few minutes?

I read up on how to reset my CMOS in Bios, and that didnt work. I updated my version of bios to the newest version i could find, v1002. My Multiplier is 13 and fsb is 166mhz, yet my pc is running at 830 mhz. I even tried remounting my processor. Is my cpu faulty or could it be a motherboard issue?

try setting it to 133MHz FSB and 26x multiplier.....
