Help with XP profiles?

skypilot

Ive got a huge meeting tomorrow morning and I need some help. I would really appreciate anything you all have to say, or at this point even your prayers :-(

Heres the issue:
I log onto windows XP pro today, and it seems like im on a new profile... my outlook express contacts and messages are gone, my desktop icons are gone, my documents is empty, etc.

So I look in the "Documents and Settings" folder and it seems that there is a new profile that I am logged onto, titled "Skypilot.Skypilotcomputer", technically "username.computername". For some reason, when I try to log onto to the "kypilot" profile, it places me in this one. Problem is, I can't access my outlook messsages or addresses. I CAN access my docs by going into the original "username" ("skypilot") directory, but I'm not sure how to get at my mail messages.

Anyone have any ideas?

HAAAAAAALP!

do you log on to a domain? maybe you logon to a domain originally and you've just been logging on locally recently.

skypilot,

What nanaki333 says is what I would think as well. If you logon to a domain with a username and then logon to the computer with the same username it will generate a different profile.

Be sure and check the third field on the logon screen and make sure it lists the domain not the computer name.
