Help with X299 Memory Choice

Hello,

I am looking at building an X299 setup with a Skylake 7900X CPU and an Asus Prime mobo. I do video editing and will be getting 32GB of RAM. I am looking for some guidance on the endless amount of options, so here are my questions:

Over the years it seems many say memory speed does not matter that much on the grand scheme of things. So what do you think? Should I save some money and just go for the DDR 4 2600 or is it worth it to spend up and get some faster speeds like 3600 or 4000?

What CAS latency would you shoot for with this RAM?

What brand would you recommend? It seems the G.Skill brand offers good reviews and pricing or would you stay with older brands like Corsair, Kingston or Crucial?

With this CPU/Mobo, would you get 4 x 8GB or 8 x 4GB sticks?

Thanks for your help!

Gskill is made with Samsung modules from what I've heard.
Personally I've used both GSkill and Corsair and I prefer Corsair.
I also upgraded to X299 and am running a CAS latency of 15. Try to get as tight of timings as possible.
You typically get 4 x 8 gb modules for 32GB
