Hello every one, I just built my first computer today but i havnt install the OS. I bought MSxp home ed. I just want to know when i install it how do i partition the HD? do i just put the cd in and let it do all the work. I want like 3 patitions on this hard drive. What should I do first. I have a boot disk from windows 98 with fdisk and all that stuff, do i use that or does winxp have some type of fdisk were i can partion the drive. thanks for the help.

Just put the CD in, don't worry it won't bite you 😛

There'll be an option to delete partitions and create new ones...

You can do it with the XP cd. Make sure and set your bios option to boot from cd-rom. If you feel more comfortable with the 98 boot disk that will work. To use the NTFS file system you should use the XP cd.

Put the XP cd in and give it a try!

thanks guys. just wanted to make sure. I kind of now what i'm doing. this is the first one i ever put together and d0nt want to mess anything up. thanks again
