Help with windows 2000

I cant get my windows 2000 to shut down properly. It would suspend on the shut down screen and does not move. THe power button would not work at this point. Anyone else had a similar problem and a solution? Thanks in advance.
 
Put teh windows CD in teh drive .. reboot .. hit enter at teh prompt and have backup CD's on hand.


If this were in the OS forum, I'de probably have a better answer 😛
 
I just did a fresh install of W2K. My software is pre SP1 or 2.

Before I used Windows Update after installing SP2, I'd get the old AT screen "It's now safe to shut off your computer." After the upgrades, no probs...
