my sisters pc doesnt want to boot up, she tried installing win98 again, (on top of current install, hoping to fix bad files/missing files/whatever is wrong) so she didnt format and whatnot...

i have the hard drive with me, when you go into the win98 setup, msgsrv32 crashes the install and renders the pc useless...i have no idea how to fix this..can i install the drive in my box, and run win98 setup off my drive and install it to hers somehow? is there a way to have windows fix broken things in the installation? any info will help..thanks in advance

If the perifials are different along with the motherboard, video card and soundcard don't install it on yours.
It's best to do the install on the same computer.
If you don't, windows will redirect everything acording to your setup and when you put it in hers it will not work. Errors galore
Do the install on her computer, then load the appropriate sound, video and other drivers.
If all else fails, reformat and start over.
