help with Win2k/XP console messaging

I want to send a console message to someone on my network using the system console in WinXP, but I can't figure out how. I know that the command is msg, but I can't figure out how to make it send it. It keeps saying that it can't find the username on the server. Please help.

In 2000 it's "net send username/computername message", not msg, from a command prompt.

Most colleges/universities, have computer labs with about 200 machines, well, most of these machines are on a network under the same domain. Ever wandered what it would sound like for all those machines to beep at the same time? If you have do the following. Find out the domain name for which all those machines fal under, then open up a command prompt.


c>net send <domain> hey! (enter)

Now just sit back and enjoy the sound and the way that everyone just looks up and comes around to your computer wandering how you did that.

When the computer staff people come around plead innocent and tell them that you just got there.
