Whenever I open Internet Explorer it opens and then trys to download some stupid /msn or something. I click to download the file and IE and the Download window keep openening and closing or something like that. And it won't stop. It keeps going back and forth. I have to reset the computer. If I cancel the download it closes IE. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Thanks.

Go into Control Panel/Internet Options

under the GENERAL tab
click USE Blank on the Homepage option

Might help

It still won't let me go to a webpage. It keeps trying to download the webpage source instead of opening it. I do remembering when I installed WinXP that is couldn't find mshtml.dll on the cd. Could that be the problem? If it is how could I fix it?

Install any browser you got (eg netscape) then go to m$ site and download the IE6 setup file and redownload the setup files there for XP.
Actually since you got internet access from another machine, just go to m$ site now and get the setup file something like ie6setup.exe.

Run that file in your XP computer online.
