Help with Wega

Just got back from buying the 27" sony wega televison from Sears. Got everything connected, yet nothing when I turn it on. Just the standby/timer light flashes. I can hear it "click" when I turn it on, but nothing after that. Any suggestions, or should I just take it back?

i gotta give ya a bumb. did you check to see if it was just on a video channel not being used. try pressing display

You mean nobody told you that the images aren't displayed on a screen like conventional TVs but are beemed directly to your brain? Its the latest and greatest in High-Definition TV. I sure hope you bought the radiation filter, if not you're pretty much screwed...

Those things don't just "click". When it charges up and surges on, it makes a sound like a spring cutting loose. Was it fresh out of the box or a floor model of some kind?

brand new, I've also noticed that it makes the same noise when I plug it in, without waiting for me to press the power button. Is that normal?

I have to wait a while before my picture turns on when i turn my wega on, but i get sound immediatley after i hit power.

I believe it has power coming to the unit, even with the power button off. I think it's for the sake of holding your settings, but I'm not sure.
