HELP WITH W2K !!!!

I just recieved a copy of W2K freom a friend but im having a hard time getting it to run on my system i was just wondering? does anybody know if you are suppose to get a build version on the bottom of your screen when you install W2K or do i have a bogus copy and not a real W2K version beacuse when i try to install my video drivers (AIW 128 pro) upon reboot during the found new hardware it just restarts my system over and over and over unitill i remove the driver but i also get these other wierd errors that souldnt be there also i tried to update using the windows update but it told me that my version is not able to updat that i had a diffrent version i am currently running ME and everything works perfectly and advice would be great also does leaving the files as FAt 32 have anything to do with it?

there should be no build number displayed by default on a vanilla retail Windows 2000 CD.

that's probably one of the beta's that leaked out.

Post this in the OS forum, but to me it sounds like your friend screwed you over and gave you a copy of the 90-day evaluation version. Many training books and such come with an evaluation version which expires.

if you have build 2195, it doesn't matter, because that's the final version.

edit: i use 2195 and no problems for over a year.
