It's a Voodoo 5 5500 AGP

I downloaded the new drivers posted at 3dfx today.
Ran Counter-Strike at 800x600 Open GL. Assuming 16 bit color since windows desktop is 16-bit.

No other options checked, FSAA off.

CS ran at ~20-40. That's worse than the Voodoo 2 I used before. WTF? If I use 800x600 D3D, speed gets up to 40-70 but quality is worse (fuzzy)

I used their uninstall utility to remove old voodoo2 registry files. Checked IRQ, it's not sharing and it's using 11 by itself.

System specs:

Abit BX6-R2
P3-500
384 MB PC 133 RAM
Promise Ultra 66 with 3 HDs attached
SB Live Value
Linksys NIC
Linksys NIC

Any ideas???

Try to use default OpenGL instead of MiniGl. Also, you can look at your halflife directory and delete any 3dfxGl.dll and Opengl.dll (back it up just in case). Then start the game again.

Thanks for the suggestion. Already tried it.

There was a directory in Half-Life called 'gldrv' with '3dfxGl.dll'

I deleted the directory and went into HL again. Same thing. No change. It is set to OpenGL Default

Reinstall the game, it may have some hidden setting from the install with the V2.

Where are the other owners?

I just reinstalled Half-Life. Now, when I launch it says that it can't find 'mmsystem266' to play. I click on ok and it continues into Half-Life fine with out the Sierra and Valve intro logos....

DLed and ran Q3ADemo

Default settings

1024x768 - 55fps

Is that normal?

Are you sure about that?

I tried it in HL and fps went to 20-70 range. Still too slow I think...
