Hi,

I am trying to type a Russian document in Word (Office XP) and was wondering how to go about doing it... I can view pages with Russian letters fine (Google Groups for example) so I assume I have support for Russian characters. I tried the Tools > Language > Set Language but that isn't working :(

Do I have to set up something in Control Panel?

I assume the same instructions for other languages.

Thanks in advance for any input!

Change the charactor map to your russian set that you have installed.

start --> accessories --> system tools --> Charactor map

If I remember correctly.

Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options -> Languages Tab -> Click Details in the "Text Services and Input Languages" box -> Add Russian, etc :)

You need to install the phonetic russian keyboard software from here. It might also be just easier/faster to type in transliterated english characters and have a webpage convert the translit to cyrillic characters.

Sorry, I finally figured out where to enable the language bar because I disabled it when I installed Office XP.

One more question, is there a character map of the keyboard?

Windows Key + U. From there you can start it, or you could always just go Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Accessibility -> On Screen Keyboard :)
