[*]1 Both halves die
[*]2 The half with the brain lives
[*]3 Both halves become new worms
[*]4 Both halves become female

Which one?

don't take my word for it, but if I remember from when I was a kid and my biology class it was answer 3..
of course I would have failed biology if it was not for my best friend and I 'helping' eachother on tests (ended up with a 96 in the class) :p

A quick Google search says it's #3. They're hermaphroditic and regenerative, so the sources I checked say the cut worm will grow into two, genetically identical worms.

sometimes they die and sometimes they form into two worms. Also worms can be asexual to and don't allways need the opisite sex to mate.

I thought you could cut a worm into 5 parts and each would become a new worm. Something like they have 5 hearts in each worm. Anyway, the answer is 3.

The answer is both 1 and 3. A damaged earthworm will regenerate if they are lucky, and have the resources to do so. Earthworms are hermaphrodites. They have both sex organs, so there are no male or female worms.

I think you have to cut them somewhere else, not in the middle for both to survive, something like a 3rd of the way on one end.

Night crawlers arn't I believe. I thinkt hey are male and female and not both. I might be wrong but I remember some worms being different. Segmented worms are cool cause each segment can be a different worm if cut. Thats why tape worms are bad.
