Help with sound

So i recently changed my soundcard to a turtle beach rivera because i have a new dvd/receiver which has optical output... so i connected everything through an optical calbe and now when i watch movies or nething theres a delay... like a maybe second or less than that of a dely in picture and sound. its noticeable. is there something i can do to fix this. thanks
 
The problem is that the audio takes extra time to process. Some receivers will come with an A/V delay feature. See if there is one in your manual. You may also want to try routing video through the receiver as well.
