This is my first time posting and you guys seem to give good advice so here's my problem. Well actually I have 2 but I think they are related in some way...
I jsut recently got a 40 gig western digital drive that supports up to ata 100 but stupid me didnt see it was OEM and I dont have a card. So, I try to plug it into my ata 66 slot thinking thatll be better than nothing. But... BIOS doesnt detect it. I set the jumpers and everything. I have an be6-II mobo and it shows up in the high tech screen that follows BIOs for those wo own one. I was wondering if anyone knew what was going on. Oh... I also connected my old 8 gig drive as slave too...
Secondly... Ever since I installed windows onto my new hard drive and reinstalled everything my burner doesnt work. Its a crappy Acer that I bought a while ago before I found out about this burner. Anyone have any idea whats wrong? It reads cds fine but cd-rwin, easy cd, and direct cd dont work on it. Any help would be appreciated...
