im going to be moving across country in two weeks and im wondering how i should go about shipping my computer. im worried about static shock and i cant seem to track down a static bag the size of my case. my two thoughts are to either strip everything else and pack it sepperately or to just bubble wrap and fit foam around the case any ideas or methods anyone have used would be great help.

I wouldn't worry so much about static shock, but I would be concerned with physical shock (ie bumping and egads DROPPING). Make sure you package your rig REALLY well. Use lots of foam and fill the open gaps with popcorn (not the kind you eat).

Remove your Harddrives and carry them with you in static bags. Remove your CPU heatsink no matter the weight. I've seen shippers throw boxes out of the trucks. Not very cool.

If I were in your position, I might risk the Mobo, Bare CPU, PSU, Optical Drives in the case to be shipped. No PCI cards, AGP cards, anything that could get loose. I would use the original case box with styrofoam and toss in packing peanuts to fill in the gaps.

Welcome to the forums btw!
