HELP with searching a good MoBo with 4 dimmslots!!!

I'm searching for a stable MoBo (266 bus) with AMD-chipsets with at least 3-4 dimmslots, compatible with at least an Athlon 1.0 ghz........

Any suggestions for a low noise (design) ATX-case and a high speed quality HDD

Tyan's Tiger is a dual cpu board, so unless you really need 2-cpu's, it's a waste of money. Wait (for what should be just a few weeks) for Abit's KR7. It is based on the enhanced KT266A chipset and has the 4-DIMM slots you want (but just as with the Tiger, you have to use Registered DIMMs in order to populate all 4 slots)!

This has nothing to do with the question I asked earlier... but how do you anandfans think the performance of the nforce-chipset will come out (damn good, bad or maybe disapointing). I saw some benchmarks (i can't remember where) of the new and improved via KT266a chipset...... looked very impressive.

free ice cream!! woohoo

actually I'm not looking forward to it just yet, the chipset will ofcourse
have to develop to become stable enough in OCing and performance
before I ever mess with it!

now where's me ice cream! lol yumm!!! 😀

IMHO, the nForce chipset will contend for (if not become) the best performing chipset of all, BUT I do not believe we will see an nForce board with more than 3-DIMM slots this year.

I have not seen many boards as of late with 4 DIMM's... I still have 2 mobos in my house with 4 DIMM slots but they are 440BX!
and since then I haven't seen many with 4 DIMM that I can think of! it's either 3 or 2, most commonly 3..

good luck finding a 4 DIMM board, I wouldn't mind one myself actually... 😀
