You can buy an inexpensive adapter that will convert 4-pin power plugs to SATA. Quick, run down to Frys before they close :)

edit: actually, the Ratpro can take a standard 4-pin power connector instead of the SATA type, so you can start with that if you like. :)

the raptor can use either a sata power cable or a molex (4pin) power connector.

DO NOT USE BOTH!!!!!!

The raptor can take a 4 pin molex or a sata power cable. However, if you use both it will permanently damage the hard drive and possibly other components.

okay I understood what you guys said but I dont think I Understand it clearly.

Currently I havet turned the comp on yet since its not done however, I do have my raptor set right now using both SATA port on the back of the raptor.

the smaller clip sata-sata cable and the I guess Molex sata cable in the raptor and the molex side to the psu...
you guys are telling me not to do this?

if so tham Im assuming the sata molex connects with the psu for power, but how do I access the data than?
I g2g now to work so I wont be back till 10 hours later.

Only connect one power connecter to the raptor, use the standard molex one.

Then plug the 2 SATA power connecterts into the 2 Maxtors.

alright Mog, I might be misunderstanding something ehre though.

The raptor Sata side plugs, and the Molex side connects to the PSU - correct?
if this is so... how do I access my HD if it isnt connected to my MOBO to read.

I must be misunderstanding something here

oh btw, im officialy out now. lol

Your Raprot needs one of these cables to carry data,

- and -

either this PSU plug or else the bigger of these two PSU plugs to supply power.

How could plugging both in possibly hurt the drive? I would assume the +12V on either plug would just go to the same components inside... same with the +5V and Gnd. Can anyone explain why it would destroy the hard drive?
