i think i might have figured out why i have so much trouble staying logged in here at Anandtech.

we have two internet connections, and as far as i know the router will do some form of load balancing between the two. that means i might login from one IP, and try to post from another IP during the same session.

do Anandtech's cookies take IPs into account when determining whether I am logged in or not? and is there anyway I can solve this tremendous annoyance where I have to login 6 times in one session?

No, Vb does not take into account your IP during the sessions.

Do the normal, if you haven't already:
1. Clear ALL cookies related to anandtech from your browser.
2. Clear your cache.
3. Close ALL instances of your browser, make sure to chk your back ground processes for FF, it has a tendency to not close completely.
4. Restart your browser.
5. Confirm that your router/firewall/security programs are allowing all cookies from anandtech

No. I reinstalled my computer from scratch and immediately experienced the same issue on first use (so it is not a cache issue). It is definitely a problem with Anandtech and my connection specifically.

I believe the issue started right after I switched to a Dual-WAN system (the router does some kind of primitive load-balancing between the two using the ClearOS linux distro).

I use many other sites like reddit.com, ebay.com. amazon.com, newegg.com, technet.com, paypal.com, where I will stay logged in for hours at a time. I can't seem to stay logged in to Anandtech for more than 2 minutes here.

At home on a single-WAN connection, I have no problem staying logged into Anandtech for extended periods of time.
