Does my RAM FSB need to match my CPU FSB? Such as if I have an Athlon 2500+ with 333FSB and I have Corsair XMS PC3200 RAM (400MHZ) will that setup work?

That works fine, I have the same. :D You should run the RAM at PC2700 speeds so it's synchronous with the CPU's FSB, however, so yes, you could also opt for PC2700 if you don't want to overclock and/or pave the way for a future upgrade to a 400MHz-based CPU.

It never hurts to have overhead. :) Plus, if the RAM is rated at CAS2.5 at the 400MHz, it can probably run CAS2 at the lower speeds.

You don't have to, but it will perform best that way. Since you already have the RAM, you've got both options open to you.

Technically, RAM doesn't have a fixed clock per se, so it wouldn't be "underclocking". You just wouldn't be running it at the maximum rated speed. But you've got the right idea. Run both your chip and your RAM at the same speeds (333 if you're staying stock).
