help with RAM, speed vs cost

Out of touch with the new. Researching my system to build some time this month. Where I'm at,,,
MB - Asus P5K
CPU - E6750

RAM - ?, out of touch with where it's at. What is better, the fastest your motherboard supports at 2gigs, or getting 4gigs cheaper ram. Lets say you could find 2gigs fast vs 4gigs slower at close to the same price.
Not current with prices, and not really sure what to look for. But if you could get 2 gigs fast (for $300), or 4gigs slower (for $300) what is better.

For use, games and Photoshop. Games for pleasure, but also hopefully starting a business in digital photograpy next summer. I know photoshop luvs ram.

I tend to buy a system and not ever upgrade. I buy them planning to upgrade, but never do. So in the long run, where am I better off.

If you are using a 64bit OS (Vista x64) then definately get more memory. You'll be better off especially with Photoshop.

Simple answer = 4 GB.

Bear in mind if heavy OCing is in the plans, that could be cramped somewhat if you run cheaper 4x1 GB or 2x2 GB.

am looking to add more ram to my system am using OCZ plat rev 2 3200 2X512
see specs below would there be any harm in adding a 2x1GB kit and keeping my existing ram
would i have to loosen latency or can i add any 2x1gb kit with 2-2-2-5 timngs

I don't overclock, at least I've never tried too. Guess I'll go for 4gigs if the price is right.
