Help with PSU and Motherboard

I have a fairly large problem I would like some help with.

I just recently purchased a new power supply (Thermaltake Purepower 480W) and after I installed it, my computer would not start properly.

It will power on fine, and all the fans, lights, and CD drives work fine, but I get no display on the monitor, no POST, and no beep codes.

I didn't add any new hardware other than the power supply, and I didn't change anything before I installed it.

Now, I reset the CMOS a number of times, even took out the CMOS battery, still nothing. I've tried the computer with a different monitor, and it didn't work. Also I have tried the processor, RAM, and Video card in another system, and they all work just fine, so I assume the motherboard was somehow ruined by the power supply, could this happen?

Also, I have an Athlon XP 2400 processor and a Shuttle AK37 GT/R motherboard if that helps any.

Any help or suggestions I could get would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Are u sure u have the right voltage setting switched on your power supply?

What happens if you put your previous power supply back in?

Ah yes, also I have tried the old power supply again, and it did exactly the same thing.
I also tried both voltage settings after it wouldn't start.

Also, does your new power supply work in the other computer? If it does, then you probably don't have something installed right in the new system.

Is your cpu fan connected to the mobo? A lot of mobos for AMD CPUs don't let you run without a heatsink/fan connected, in order to keep you from frying it. Also swap your power cord, just to rule it out as a possible cause.

Recheck all other cable connections and make sure the power supply is plugged firmly into the floppy, the hard drive, the motherboard ATX connector, and optical disks.

I'd unplug all your drives from the ide and power, no floppy also.

And I wouldn't mess with the voltage setting on the PSU, 115 for north america.

Try booting with just cpu with fan, mobo, ram, and video.

Well, thanks for your help.
I've tried everything you've suggested, and nothing seems to be working.
Unless anyone else has any suggestions, I believe I will just buy a new motherboard and return this power supply for a refund.
Thanks anyway.
