help with problem

whenever i open internet explorer or any explorer to view files or recyle bin.....the desktop goes blank then it comes back and the thing doesnt open

it just suddenly started to happen, i dont want to re-load my os...there must be some other way.

try disabling 'active desktop' -- its just a hunch

ive tried that and it dont work...any other ideas?

That sounds like a registry problem man. Only way youre gonna fix that is by reloading. Tho if your using Xp or 2000 a repair might work.

How about doing a system restore?

i found a solution...all i had to do is right click internet explorer and go to advanced and under browsing uncheck third party browser extensions...

yeah, that sounds like a temporary fix only.
Those third-party browser extensions are also known as "Spyware"
Have you tried running Ad-aware or Spybot?

i did run spyware and it got everything before...but problem still happened...and i did that and now i dont have the problem anymore
