Help with plexwriter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

My plexwriter is acting wierd all day long. When there is a cd or no cd in it, the busy light whould flash nine times and then stop then nine times again! Also I can't read any cds. I just upgraded my firmware to 1.04. What is wrong with my plexwriter!

P.S. I am running windows 98 PIII700@945.

Those 9 flashes are a code, there is something wrong with your Plextor, if you call their tech support they will know what your burner is trying to tell you.

I had something similar happen to me a few days ago...
heres what i did:
pop open the computer and turn it off... whatever order you want..
then turn it on with the power cable disconnected from the plex
turn it off (you can turn it off before windows starts loading... it just has to power up)
turn it on with only the power cable connected to the plex
turn it off
turn it on with nothing connected to the plex
turn it off
turn it on with everything connected...

I dont know which step fixed my prob, but this process did it for me.

I've been calling their tech support all day and all I get is "Due to a high volume of calls, your call can not go through, please call back in another time"......How many calls can they have, unless Plextor drives breaks all the time.

Have you tried emailing them, I got a quick response last week by email. A friend had Imation/Plextor and I'm pretty sure he got the same code and it had to be RMA'ed. Good luck.

yeah I just called their non-toll free number and finally I got through.(thank god there is i-link.) and I am in the process of getting a RMA number. Has anyone gotten a RMA number from them before? How long do they respond?

Tcnen811,
I had to RMA an 8432. They are real good about answering email but it took about three weeks to send it in, get it fixed, and have it returned.
