Help with plastic latch

When I was taking out my video card (sorry I am kind of new at this) I looked for a plastic latch before I took it out. I didn't see one so I tried to pull the video card out. It came out but upon it coming out I noticed a plastic latch hidden underneath of it and I accidentally broke it. I hooked it back up and it works but I was wondering if not having that latch will eventually mess up my computer? Will the weight of the video card be too much and it will slide out? Confused.

I haven't heard of anyone ruining their card by not having it locked in place. Of course it will only become a problem if your constantly lugging your computer from place to place or If it has a aftermarket-heatsink that is quite heavy.

Btw, wrong section.
