I know a bunch of people here have this DVD player, so I figured I'd ask for help. I just purchased a 16:9 TV and I'm trying to setup my player so that I can take full advantage of the widescreen TV (anamorphic DVDs ... yummy) but no matter what I do I can't make the thing play in 16:9 mode. It always comes across as 4:3 with the gray bars on the side.

I've switched the internal DVD menu to 16:9 (WideScreen) mode, I've bought component cables and tried a million widescreen, anamorphic, pan&scan DVDs, to no avail. Is this a known problem with Pionner models (or this player)? If so, is there a fix? Or am I going to be buying a new DVD player soon as well?
