Help with PC overheating?!

I bought my gaming machine second hand early last year so i am not really sure what is in it (beyond basic specs). All i know is that it has a lot of fancy cooling systems and i am thinking one of those things has broken down.

What happened was that suddenly i hear beeping sound and computer shuts down. I can only restart now after i let if cool off for half an hour or so. That to me means over heating issue.

But overheating only happens if a fan breaks down and that is not that case as far as i can see. What could be an issue is my liquid cooling system.

I have following two system that i can identify:
Blue Liquid Pipe and Tank
Fan controller
Maynot be exactly these models but close.

They are cooling both CPU and GPU (no fan on CPU or GPU that i can see). But one thing i have noticed is that the liquid is not flowing, which presumely was flowing before (i never really paid it any attention).

So i am thinking that my liquid pump may be kaput. Could it be that i am missing something obvious? (which would not surprise me)

Thanks

Akaz

PS. quote from fan master link:
Quote:
It also features four thermistors (included) to measure temperatures around your case in Fahrenheit or Celsius. An audio alarm will sound should your temperatures exceed your designated setting(s).

That may explain the beeping i heard before PC shutdown though i saw no red light (but my model might be slightly older one and thus without that feature). Also temperature display said CPU temp was only 65 F which should be okay i would have thought.

If the water isn't flowing, then there's no cooling.
And that's really bargain basement WCing anyway.

Okay so how do i figureout which part to replace?

If the water is not flowing, you need to check the pump out. Go to thermaltakes website (It sounds like you have a thermaltake kit) and look at their water-pumps and see if you see any on the website that matches a part in your computer. Once you find the pump in your setup, verify that it is plugged into a molex connector properly. If it is, and the pump is not working, you should try to obtain a replacement for it.

i bet its a kink at the outlet or inlet.

ive had one of those res a very very long time ago, shamed to say.

And it had massive kink problems.

Would the cooling system have problem with air in the pipes? if so how would vaccum the air?

EDIT: The only pump i can find here in Toronto is this for $60. Is that reasonable price?

Thanks. just did that. Looks like i have to bleed the thing after i get the new pump. now i just have to figure out if have the resvoir or not and where is my T-line.

PS. In hindsight i would have been better off buying a regular air cooled system since i dont really tax my system all that much. :/

EDIT: Is that liquid tank that i have in the 5.25 bay drive a resevoir?

What do i need to consider if i want to go back to air cooling?

Currently my HDD, GPU, CPU are watercooled. I am pretty sure i can get a regular heatsink and fan for CPU and GPU but should i do with HDD?

Turns out that i have a some sort of leak in the system which lets air in. Its all fine if i run the system daily but after 3 days of being kept off it accumulates a lot of air in the pipes which leaves the pump suck on air and i have to move the pipes around and get liquid flowing into the pump.

How do i locate the source of this leak? There are no obvious drip marks or anything

Yes it is and you probably simply need to add water and bleed, repeatedly until all the air is gone. With the system running you'll need to tip the PC fore and aft, side to side. Lift forward and hold for a few seconds, listen and watch the tubes. Tilt back and repeat, do this to both sides. You need to get the air to the res and then refill. Your loop may not have a Tline, I've yet to see a "kit" that does.
