Help with Partition Magic

OK my friend has ME install on his hard drive but he wants to create a 7gb partition to try XP on. How would he do this?
Also if he likes XP he wants to format the ME partion and combine it with the XP one. How would he do this? He has partition magic, and he does not know if it needs to be Primary or Logical? If primary, does it need to be active or something? We have no idea.

Thanks

You should be able to just create the second partition then pop in the XP disk and install it on that partition. It should automatically do the boot loader everytime you start up after that, allowing you to boot to either OS. Just make sure not to install XP on the ME partition.
