I have a p4 3.0ghz, 512 pc3200 crucial, and an intel 865pe board. I have no options in bios to change the fsb, and my PLL isnt supported by CPUcool or any such program that i know of. Is there any hope for me? Anyone have any ideas? I should also add that I have hte lastest bios. Thanks for the help in advance.

That is why you don't get intel brand mobos!!!! I think your hope may be the rumor intel may release a bios that will help you oc your chips. The need to stay competitive or the perception of competitiveness and to target the enthusiast market it was rumored they were going to do this....May just have to wait...

Otherwise dump the board and get a Abit or Asus mobos that are more geared to this activity...

I am not interested in oc'ing enough to replace it, i just wondered if it was possible. And the reason I got that board was that it was free :p.

Intel will be releasing a software overclocking utility (not a bios) for their MB's here soon. There is no official release date that I am aware of but you can find the screen shot of what they are planning on their web site.

your screwed for overclocking, intel doesnt allow it because they dont want you burning up intel chips. you can beat it for free though, and really unless you play high end games you cant notice much over 2 GHZ anyway
